History of College
The sapling of St. Joseph’s Institution was planted by the Franciscan sisters of St. Joseph in Jolarpettai in the year 1986 and has been nurtured beautifully till this day by our patron saint St. Joseph and the dedication of our former Principal Rev.Sr. Amali Vedha, who has raised this institution into a large Banyan making it possible in all dimensions bearing plenty of fruits.
In the garden of excellence and pride, St. Joseph’s Women’s College of Education budded on 17-11-2004 to meet the educational requirements of women graduates in Tirupattur District and Northern part of Tamil Nadu. No objection certificate from the Government of Tamilnadu was obtained on 28-09-2004. Permission was obtained from the National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore. Our college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. ai. he orders, hundred eligible students are selected every year, after conducting an interview. A team of qualified experienced and devoted staff members are working in our college under the dynamic Principal.
M.Ed degree course was incorporated in our college from the academic year 2008-2009. The quality of our institution is evident from the quality of educated women we have produced and we are proud of our academic excellence and achievements.
All reference books for B.Ed and M.Ed. are available in our library. Well furnished class rooms and seminar halls are available for the students.
Our College is a study centre for IGNOU B.Ed course incorporated in the year 2006. There is a St.Joseph’s Hostel for women which serves as a home away from home for the benefits of B.Ed and M.Ed students.“
